Great Geauga County Fair: Chickens Fly at Great Geauga County Fair

Unfortunately, we don’t have anything like this on Long Island but for those in Ohio, the oldest fair in the state, the Great Geauga County Fair, began on Thursday to kick off the long Labor Day weekend.

For the 188th year, the Great Geauga County Fair featured it’s annual Chicken Flying Contest to begin the festivities with packed grandstands–and lots of chickens.

Well, this year more than 30 people competed to see how far their chicken, placed in a mailbox, would fly when let out of the 15-foot-high mailbox.

The winner and the farthest flying chicken clocked in at a distance of 25 feet.
